Local Game Rules and Guidelines

Playing Rules

Except for a number of explicit exceptions, the 2013-2014 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations applies to the games played in New Zealand. The exceptions are listed in the Playing Conditions as formulated by the NZGOA Rules Committee and agreed by local Conferences.

The 2013-2014 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations (PDF 4.4M) rule book is available from the NCAA web site. You can also order copies of the rule book through the NZGOA when we place our annual order near the start of a new season.

The NZGOA Baseline Playing Conditions are the rules exceptions governing Regular and Post-Season games.

NCAA Rule Changes

The ever vigilant Editor of our Rules Committee produces an annual report of the changes the NCAA have made to the rules. The report is circulated to the NZGOA, AGOA (Australian Gridiron Officials Association) and BAFRA (British American Football Referees Association). We have reports covering recent changes online.
